LiveAquaria.com Director Kevin Kohen has extensive experience in the Tropical Fish Industry. Starting his career and working for eight years in a retail fish store, Kevin then moved on to oversee the operations of one of the largest tropical fish wholesale and import/export businesses in the midwest for over eight years. From there, Kevin ventured on to launch the LiveAquaria.com web site. Kevin has bred and reared nearly 100 species of fresh and saltwater fish and was one of the early pioneers in the U.S. to maintain live corals in captivity back in the early 80's. For over 20 years, he has been a leading advocate for specialized shipping techniques that ensure the health of aquatic life during transit.

Professionally, Kevin has helped pioneer important research studies in water chemistry management, filtration technologies, fish diseases and acclimation techniques to safeguard the health of a wide range of aquatic species. Kevin designed our new Drs. Foster & Smith Aquaculture Coral Facility, and oversaw the installation of this new state-of-the-art facility. Kevin oversees the operations of the facility and is actively involved in the husbandry and propagation of all of the aquatic life in this new facility.

Fish and Coral Husbandry Techniques

Drawing on Kevin’s vast experiences, this talk will address the important questions that most hobbyists are faced with when dealing with fish and corals.

• Treatment of common fish diseases – what works
• Care of fish in quarantine
• Getting difficult fish to feed

Just Imagine...

...a weekend where you can see live presentations by the most widely known, well-respected authors and lecturers in the marine aquarium hobby.

At the International Marine Aquarium Conference the speakers will be covering all the latest information and research on marine aquarium fish, corals and invertebrates. Meet with them socially, see exhibits by some of the foremost manufacturers and dealers in the aquarium hobby, and get some great deals on conference specials.

IMAC is open to ALL hobbyists . You do not have to belong to a marine aquarium society or even own a reef tank to attend, just be interested in learning more about this fascinating hobby.

IMAC is a non-profit venture by hobbyists for hobbyists to insure the continuation of an annual educational event for aquarists, at a reasonable cost.

Whether you are a seasoned aquarist or just a beginner, IMAC is something you need to take in. And IMAC is put on each year by the same people, so if you attended IMAC in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 or 2007 you know the high quality of the show that we will put on.

ETRC Frag Swap - June 14, 2008

The East Tennessee Reef Club (ETRC) is holding its first annual frag swap on June 14, 2008 in Knoxville, Tennessee. The ETRC was the first reef club formed in Tennessee several years ago and we anticipate similar success to the other regional frag swaps held in Nashville, Chattanooga and Memphis each year. The Nashville swap last January attracted close to 400 participants from all over the southeast and as far away as Ohio and California. We will have a good selection of coral frags available, reasonably priced tank-raised corals and a good selection of the harder to find SPS, LPS, zoanthids, acans and other varieties offered by both private sellers and vendors for both sale and trade.

Regional reef clubs (TN, GA, VA, NC, SC, AL) will be provided one table free of charge.
$15 fee for private sellers/traders; $25 fee (or a $50 raffle donation) required from commercial vendors.

Please check in at our Reef Central club forum or our club website easttnreefclub.com for frag swap updates and additional information.

  • DT’s Phytoplankton
